Restauración

Restauración, or Restoration, refers to a historical period and movement specifically associated with the reinstatement of the monarchy in England after the Interregnum, when the country was governed as a republic under Oliver Cromwell. This period began in 1660 with the return of King Charles II to the throne and lasted until 1688, marked by significant political, social, and cultural changes.

The term can also refer more broadly to the concept of restoring something to a former state or condition, whether that involves reviving traditional practices, values, or institutions in various contexts, such as art, architecture, and governance. In the context of art and architecture, restoration involves preserving and returning artworks or historic buildings to their original appearance or functionality. In general usage, it implies the act of making something new again or bringing back what has been lost.
