Košarka

Košarka is the Croatian term for basketball. It is a team sport in which two teams, typically consisting of five players each, compete to score points by shooting a ball through the opposing team’s hoop, which is elevated off the ground. Each team can score by making field goals (worth two or three points, depending on the player’s distance from the hoop) or free throws (worth one point). The game is played on a rectangular court, with key components including the basketball hoop, backboard, and three-point line. The objective of the game is to outscore the opponent within a set time limit, which is divided into quarters. Basketball is known for its fast pace, requiring skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and teamwork. It is widely popular globally and has a professional league structure in various countries, including the NBA (National Basketball Association) in the United States, and various international competitions like the FIBA World Cup and Olympic Games.
