Cambio climático

Cambio climático, or climate change in English, refers to significant and lasting changes in the average temperature and weather patterns of the Earth. While climate change can occur naturally over geological time scales, the current trend is primarily driven by human activities, particularly the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes which increase concentrations of greenhouse gases (such as carbon dioxide and methane) in the atmosphere. This leads to a rise in global temperatures, alterations in precipitation patterns, sea level rise, and increased frequency and intensity of extreme weather events. Climate change has profound effects on ecosystems, wildlife, and human societies, impacting agriculture, water resources, health, and infrastructure. It presents challenges that necessitate international cooperation and the implementation of strategies for mitigation and adaptation.
